Village defibrillator now in place!

kr krIt is exciting to see the new public access defibrillator in position on the outside of the church building. Many thanks to all who helped raise the funds and especially to the Brookmans Park Rotary Club without whom it would not have been possible.

Thanks to all concerned. I had a look today. Im not clear how this will work. I get “dial 999 for the code”. do you the take the Defib. home to treat the patient ?

    • The emergency services will talk anyone that needs it through what to do but i think the idea is that you take the apparatus (which is quite small) home to the person whose heart is fibrillating. The great thing is that it has a built-in monitor which can tell if the person actually needs it and will only allow it to fire if they do.
